FIRC/payment advice for international transactions in India

All Indian users processing international transaction will get "payment advice" or "payee advice" emailed directly to their account from Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

Payment advice is evidence that a business has received export payments that originated outside India. Present the payment advice to your bank to obtain a Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC).

A FIRC verifies that an individual or business has brought funds into India that were received as payment in foreign currency from outside India. A FIRC is issued by the authorised Indian bank of the beneficiary and is particularly important for exporters, freelancers, and service providers who receive international payments to comply with export laws, claim potential tax benefits, and qualify for export promotion incentives where available through government schemes.
