If your account is not up-to-date with the latest security features, Stripe may pause your account from accessing the Stripe dashboard and ask you to verify the ownership of your account. For security purposes, you will be asked to provide detailed information to confirm your identity, and the process will take 1-3 business days.
After you have submitted information for ownership verification, we will send you updates to the email address on-file. If we can verify your account, you will receive instructions to complete the verification process. In other cases, we will provide further instructions to help you complete ownership verification.
Although your access to the Dashboard is paused, your Stripe account will continue to operate normally, accept payments, and process transfers. Once you re-gain access to the Dashboard, you can improve the security of your Stripe account by setting up two-step authentication.
Go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/login and enter your credentials.
If you are required to complete the account ownership verification process, you will be prompted to proceed.
Fill in as much information as you can to the best of your knowledge. See more on tips below.
Submit when you have completed the form. We will contact you at your email address on-file within 1-3 business days.
You can shorten the processing time of the account ownership verification process by:
Completing the form from a device and a location that you have previously logged into the Stripe Dashboard with.
Submitting as many pieces of information as you know about your Stripe account. The more information you can provide, the more likely Stripe can help you recover your account.
If you are unsure, we recommend guessing to the best of your knowledge rather than leaving an answer blank. Wrong answers are not considered as a part of the evaluation.
You can always try to recover your account again through the form.
If you are still having problems or if you can no longer complete ownership verification through the form, contact Stripe support for help with identifying what you will need to resume access to your account.
You can always create a new Stripe account and try again later on your older account when you remember more information.
