# Change the email address associated with a Stripe account

1. Log in to the Stripe account.
1. In the upper right corner, click the [profile menu icon](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/user) and select **Personal details**.
1. Enter the new email address in the **Email** field and click **Save**.
1. You'll see several identity verification options. Select one, click **Continue**, and follow the on-screen prompts.
   - If you've selected verification with your current or backup email address:
     1. Open a new tab in the same browser.
     1. Check the current email address for a verification email and click the link to complete verification.
1. Check the new email address for a confirmation email, and click the link in the email to confirm the change to the new email address.
1. Use the new email address to log in going forward.
## Additional Information
* If you’re unable to log in and don’t have access to the email associated with your Stripe account, you’ll need to change the owner of a Stripe account as the Owner Administrator account is inaccessible.
