Updating the business representative through the Dashboard

Some Stripe accounts have the ability to remove and nominate a new Company Representative through the Dashboard. To do this, users must log in to the Stripe Dashboard, go to Business details in Settings, and edit the current Company Representative's details. It is important to nominate a new Company Representative within seven days of removing the previous one, or payouts may be paused on the account. This functionality will be rolling out to more users over time.


Remove a Company Representative through the Dashboard

  1. Log in to the Stripe Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings (gearbox in the top right of the Dashboard), and then scroll down to Business details:

  1. The current Company Representative will be listed as “account representative.”
  1. Click the pencil icon to edit that person. Their full verification details will pop up.
  1. At the bottom of the page, click x Remove as Account Representative.
  1. Once clicked, a popup will appear asking you to confirm and acknowledge you will need to nominate a new representative within seven days or payouts will be paused.
  1. Click Remove as Representative.

Nominate a new Company Representative through the Dashboard

  1. Log in to the Stripe Dashboard
  2. Navigate to settings (gear icon in the top right of the Dashboard), and then scroll down to Business Settings and select Business details
  3. The Management and Ownership section will have a red box titled “Account representative needed”. By clicking the dropdown menu in this box, you will have the option to Add someone new or selecting an existing user as the account representative

  1. By selecting “Add someone new” you’ll be prompted to add a new representative’s information
  2. By selecting an existing person as your new representative, you will be prompted to confirm your selection

Important

You must nominate a new Company Representative within seven days of removing the previous Company Representative or payouts may be paused on your account.

Transfer Email Ownership

If you are the current Company Representative and are removing yourself from the account, please transfer ‘email ownership’ at the same time you nominate a new Company Representative. Depending on your specific scenario, we would recommend following the instructions:
