Account recovery without two-step authentication device or recovery code

There are a few ways to regain access to your Stripe account if you no longer have your two-step authentication device or recovery code (also referred to as an emergency code).

If you have your recovery code

  1. Log in with your email address and password.
  2. Click “Try another way to log in” when prompted to enter your two-step authentication code.
  3. Click on “Use your recovery code” and enter the backup code in the Emergency Code field to disable two-step authentication. As a reminder, the emergency/recovery code was shown to you when you set up two-step authentication or if you regenerated a new one.

If you do not have your recovery code

Submit a request through our account recovery form. You’ll be asked to provide detailed information to confirm your identity, and the process will take 1-3 business days.

If you lost your recovery code but still have your device

Generate a new code from your profile settings by clicking “Two-step authentication settings.” The recovery code should be written down and stored in a safe place.
