When a customer initiates a card payment through mail order or over the phone (MOTO), it is exempt from Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements.
Transactions where you manually enter the card number, expiration date, and security code when the card is not physically present, for example, through the Stripe Dashboard or Terminal, might be MOTO transactions.
If your account is in the European Economic Area, Stripe automatically marks payments with manually entered card details as MOTO.
See more info on processing MOTO transactions via Stripe Terminal.
