As a part of the updates to Singapore Verification Requirements in 2025, Stripe would be reaching out to you for more information about your organization.
Please log in to your dashboard to view the required actions and review the resources below to learn more about the type of information you may need to provide.
To understand the beneficiaries of your business, Stripe requires two areas of information:
- Ultimate beneficial owners of your business - Ultimate beneficial owners (UBO) are individual persons that, directly or indirectly, own 25% of more of your business.
- Directors of your business - Directors are individuals who are members of the governing board of your company. We require the names of all directors of your business
Verifying this information
Stripe will leverage Government Registries to help verify your business ownership information. Depending on the nature of your organization and the availability of information on Government Registries, Stripe may request more information.
The Government Registries Stripe will use are:
- ACRA - Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority for businesses, private companies, and partnerships
- Charities.gov.sg - For non-profit organizations
Stripe will pre-fill the information available on government registries on your dashboard for you to confirm or edit. The prefilled information will include:
- Names and IDs of all owners who own more than 25% of your business
- Names and IDs of all directors
If the information on the government registries does not match the information provided on your account, or if your organization is not listed on government registries, you can upload any of the following documents (issued/notarized with the last 12 month) to verify the information:
- Government documents - Certificate of Registration or ACRA BizFiles
- Notarized internal documents - Minutes of meeting
- Letter of Attestation from Authorized Representative (Template)
- If you are a company or corporation, the letter of attestation is the recommended document to share if your shareholding structure consists of multiple layers of ownership or multiple holding companies.
Exempt Organizations
Certain organizations, like government entities, financial institutions, or publicly listed companies, are exempt from providing ultimate beneficial owners; you can read more about exempt organizations here.
Businesses that qualify for this exemption may still be required to provide information on their directors.
