Representative Authority Verification

In certain markets, such as Singapore, we are required to verify that the business representative holds a position of authority in the business. A position of authority is defined differently for companies, non-profits, and government agencies:

Company

The business' representative must be listed on ACRA Bizfile as a key officer, which could be any of the following roles: Owner, Director, Managing Director, CEO, Partner, General Partner, or Trustee.

If the key officers listed on ACRA are unable to manage the Stripe account, a Letter of Authorization (Template) signed by a key officer will be required (letter should be dated within the last 12 months). This letter must authorize a designated person to be listed as the representative of their company. This designated person can then be verified as a representative on Stripe.

Non-profit:

The business' representative must be listed on charities.gov.sg as an office bearer, which could be any of the following roles: President, Executive Director, CEO, Treasurer, Secretary, Chairman, or Trustee.

If the office bearers listed on charities.gov.sg are unable to manage the Stripe account, a Letter of Authorization (Template) signed by a key officer authorizing a designated person as a representative of their company will be required (letter should be dated within the last 12 months). This person can then be verified as a representative on Stripe.

Information required from the Account Representative

The representative must provide the following information:

  • Proof of ID
  • Proof of Address
  • Proof of liveness

These requirements can all be fulfilled directly through the Singpass option available on the dashboard. If Singpass is not used or if Stripe is unable to obtain any necessary information from Singpass, alternative documentation will be requested from the user.
