In certain markets, such as Singapore, we're required to verify that the business representative holds a position of authority in the business. A position of authority is defined differently for companies , non-profits and government agencies:

• Company: your business' representative needs to be listed on ACRA Bizfile as a key officer (Owner, Director, Managing Director, CEO, Partner, General Partner, Trustee)
• Non-profit: your business' representative needs to be listed on charities.gov.sg or ros.mha.gov.sg as an office bearer (President, Executive Director, CEO, Treasurer, Secretary, Chairman, or Trustee)
• Government agencies: your agency’s representative needs to be someone authorized to represent the agency. You must send a Letter of Authority (LoA) in this template to sggovloa@stripe.com. This letter must be signed by an authorized senior official who can be verified via the Singapore Government Directory
  • Note: If the Government Agency is also a Charity and verifiable via charities.gov.sg, your account representative must be one of the executive office bearers listed on charities.gov. No LoA is needed
  • To continue onboarding as a government agency you will need to contact support

If the information on ACRA or charities.gov.sg is not up-to-date, you'll have to update this information in order to verify your Stripe account. You can add a new business representative by following these steps.

Legal representative has left the company?

If the business representative information on your Stripe account is no longer accurate, verification will fail and your payouts / payments may be restricted. In that case, follow the steps to update your business representative.
