How to reset account claim attempts for connected accounts

Custom connected accounts will be asked to confirm who they are in order to access their 1099s via e-delivery. If the connected account is locked out of the account claim page due to too many unsuccessful attempts the platform account can reset the account claims.

Reset connected account claim attempts

To reset a connected account's claim attempts:

  1. Go to the 1099 tab of the Tax Forms dashboard.
  2. Find the connected account's Account claim status.
  3. If the status is Not claimed, no attempts left:
    • Click the three-dot menu in the upper right.
    • Select Reset account claim attempts.
  4. If the status is Not claimed and the account is having access issues:
    • Check that you have the most up-to-date information on file for the account. If required, send a new pre-filing confirmation invite to the connect account.

Once the account is successfully claimed, the status will update to Claimed in the Tax Forms dashboard.
