My connected account is locked out

Connected accounts with access to the Stripe Express dashboard can get locked out of their account if they fail verification too many times when claiming their account. See Support recommendations and FAQ templates for more information about fixing blocked accounts.

Reset their claim attempts

  1. From the 1099 tab of the Tax Forms dashboard, locate the connect account’s Account claim status.
  2. If the status is Not claimed, no attempts left:
    1. Click the ellipsis (...) menu
    2. Select Reset account claim attempts.
  3. If the status is Not claimed and the payee is having access issues:
    1. Make sure the connected account's information is correct.
    2. Send a new pre-filing confirmation invite to the connected account.

Once the account has been claimed successfully, the Connected account status will update to Claimed in the Dashboard.
