Malaysia-issued debit cards are not automatically activated for online payments. If a Malaysian debit card is used to make a payment online but the customer has not set it up to allow online payments, the bank will decline the charge. Usually the error code associated with this decline is transaction_not_allowed.
We recommend that merchants inform their consumers using a Malaysia-issued debit card to reach out to their banks to activate their debit cards for online purchases.
Stripe does not support American Express transactions in Malaysia at this time. Any charges made using an American Express card will be declined.
