When will I receive my 1099 tax form?

If you’ve agreed to E-delivery, you should receive your 1099 tax form by January 31.

Timelines will vary by platform, but we’ve outlined all events that may occur from October through January:

  • October through December: If you work with a platform that has enabled early access onboarding for pre-verification of your tax information, you will receive email instructions to log in to Stripe Express and provide updated tax information.
  • Before January 25, 2025: You confirm that your tax information, such as name, address, Social Security number, Employer Identification Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number is correct.
  • End of January: The platform that you work with files your 1099 tax form with the IRS and state tax authorities, respectively.
  • January 31: You can access your 1099 tax form via Stripe Express. You should contact your platform directly if it's not available by this date.
  • Post-filing: You can request corrections to your 1099 tax form directly with the platform that you work with.

We strongly recommend that you ensure all of your tax information such as name, address, Social Security number or Employer Identification Number is up to date in Stripe Express at all times. This reduces the likelihood of potential errors in your 1099 tax forms.
