# I haven’t received my 1099 tax form

Your 1099 tax form will be located in the **Tax Forms** tab of your [Stripe Express dashboard](https://connect.stripe.com/express_login). Your platform should have made your 1099 tax form available to you by January 31, but there may be a number of reasons why you haven't received it yet.
If you haven't received your 1099, work through the following steps in order until your issue is resolved.
**Steps**
1. [Check your eligibility](#check-your-eligibility)
1. [Verify your tax information](#verify-your-tax-information)
1. [Download your tax forms](#download-your-tax-forms-from-stripe-express)

## Step 1: Check your eligibility
Before troubleshooting, confirm that you're eligible to receive a 1099 in the first place. Eligibility depends on your form type:
- **1099-NEC or 1099-MISC:** You earned $600 or more from a platform in the previous calendar year. Contact your platform to confirm whether they file these forms on your behalf.
- **1099-K:** You are based in the US or are a US taxpayer and had greater than $20,000 USD in total gross volume with more than 200 transactions in the previous calendar year.
For full eligibility details, including thresholds by tax year and which tax details appear on your form, see 1099 tax forms eligibility for Stripe Express. Thresholds can change from year-to-year.
If you're not eligible, you won't receive a 1099, but you can still [download your earnings history](#exporting-your-earnings-history).
## Step 2: Verify your tax information
You should have received an email titled **"Action required to receive your tax forms"** or **"Verify your tax information"** inviting you to set up your Stripe Express account, verify your tax information and opt in to e-delivery. You'll need to opt in to e-delivery to be able to download your tax forms.
If you can't find this email, check your spam folder and make sure you're using the same email address associated with your platform account. If it's not there, [request a new invite](https://support.stripe.com/express/how-do-i-get-a-new-invite-link).
If you're having issues getting your Stripe Express account set up, see If I don't have my Stripe Express account setup, how do I get my 1099 tax form? .
Confirming your tax information and opting in to e-delivery doesn't generate a 1099. Your form only appears in Stripe Express after your platform files it with the IRS.
## Step 3: Download your tax forms
After you've verified your tax information, [log in to your Stripe Express account](http://connect.stripe.com/app/express).
From the **Tax Forms** tab, you can view and download your 1099 tax forms.
If your form still isn't available, keep the following in mind:
- **Your form may not be available from your platform yet.** You won't be able to download your 1099 until your platform has made it available. You'll be notified by email once it's ready. Reach out to your platform directly for assistance.
- **You may not have consented to e-delivery.** If you didn't consent to e-delivery (paperless delivery), your 1099 will be mailed to the address your platform has on file. Reach out to your platform for assistance with postal delivery.
- **You may be blocked by the TIN challenge.** Before downloading the form, you'll need to enter the last four digits of the Tax Identification Number (TIN) that appears on your 1099. If you've recently switched from an SSN to an EIN (or vice versa), or requested a business type change, your platform may have updated the TIN on your form. Try entering your other TIN if the first attempt fails.
## My platform told me to contact Stripe
Your platform is responsible for filing and delivering your 1099, not Stripe directly. If your platform's support team has directed you to Stripe, here's what to try:
1. **Escalate within your platform.** Ask to speak with a billing or finance team member rather than front-line support.
1. **Contact Stripe with details.** If your platform remains unresponsive, [contact Stripe support](https://support.stripe.com) and include your platform name, your Stripe account ID, the tax year in question, and a description of what your platform told you.
## Request a paper copy of your tax form
To request a paper copy of your 1099, reach out to your platform directly. If your 1099 has already been filed with the IRS, it is most likely already on its way via the delivery method that was in place at the time of filing.
If you're changing your delivery preference from e-delivery to postal mail, make sure your address is up to date first: go to the **Tax Forms** tab in [Stripe Express](https://express.stripe.com/) and click **Edit**. Then contact your platform's support team to confirm postal delivery.
## Information on my tax form is incorrect
For help correcting information on your 1099, see Correct or update your 1099 tax form.
## Download your earnings history without a 1099
If you didn't meet the threshold this year, you won't receive a 1099 from your platform. You can still download your earnings history directly from your [Stripe Express dashboard](https://connect.stripe.com/express_login) as a record of your payments for the year.
