Updating tax information for accounts in Brazil
The tax ID associated with a Stripe account in Brazil (CPF or CNPJ) and the business type (i.e. company, individual) CANNOT be changed once the details have been verified.
For Individual accounts:
- The CPF CANNOT be changed in the account once this information has been verified.
- If the representative CPF needs to be changed, a new Stripe account must be created.
- If the business type needs to be changed to CNPJ (i.e. from individual to company), a new Stripe account must be created.
For company, LTD and other entities associated with CNPJ:
- The CNPJ CANNOT be changed once this information has been verified
- Representative details can be changed in this case.
- If the CNPJ needs to be changed, a new Stripe account must be created instead.
- If the business type needs to be changed to CPF (i.e. from company to individual), a new Stripe account must be created.
