During the account application process, you'll need to select the appropriate business type for your Stripe account. For UAE accounts, we only support the following types of businesses:

• Companies, LLCs, Single member LLCs, Sole Establishment LLC, Civil Companies, Partnerships, Branches of Foreign Companies

• Sole establishments, free zone establishments

You also must have a trade license or freelancer permit issued in the UAE to be able to use Stripe.

We don't currently support individuals without a trade license/permit or NGOs, non-profits or government organisations.

Having trouble determining the right business type for your business?

You should reference your trade license to determine which option best represents your business type. Some common examples are:

• Company, Civil Company, Partnership, LLC, Single Member LLC, Sole Establishment LLC, Branch of Foreign Company = Company/LLC

• You can then indicate whether the business was registered in a free zone or not
• Sole establishment, sole proprietorship, free zone establishment (FZE) = Sole establishment
