# Waiting on your first Stripe payout? What you need to know

This article helped **95%** of Stripe users solve their issue.
### There is a 7-14 day waiting period for the first payout. This delay is necessary for risk mitigation and **_cannot be waived under any circumstances_**.
Any updates made to your payout method or schedule during this time will take effect after the waiting period has ended. Check your estimated payout schedule in the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/payouts).

### **Delays more than 7-14 days**
The waiting period is typically 7 days, but your first payout might take longer, depending on your industry risk level and country of operation. The waiting period can be up to 14 days for businesses in certain industries and up to 30 days in countries such as Brazil. See a [full list of payout schedules by country](https://docs.stripe.com/payouts#standard-payout-timing).
If you haven’t received your first payout after the designated waiting period see: [Where is my payout? FAQ for missing and late payouts](/questions/where-is-my-payout-faq-for-missing-and-late-payouts).
### Other reasons for delay
* Bank related delays - Bank processing can be delayed by weekends and holidays. Once the bank has finished processing your payout, the funds will be deposited into your account automatically.
* **Account verification issues** - Check your account status in the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/status) or your email to see if additional information is required to verify your account. You can also check which bank account is linked to your Stripe account.
