# Add a bank account for payouts

### To receive payouts, you must have a bank account linked to your Stripe account through the [**Business Settings**](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts) page in the Dashboard. Only users with Admin or Owner permissions can add, edit, or delete bank account details.

To receive payouts from Stripe, you must have a bank account linked to your Stripe account.
### To add a bank account
1. From the [**Dashboard**](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/account), click the **Settings** gear in the upper-right corner of the page. Under **Account Settings**, click **Business**, then select the **Bank accounts and currencies** tab.
1. Under **Settlement currencies and bank accounts**, find the currency you use for payouts and click **Add a bank account**. If you have more than one currency enabled on your account, you'll need a bank account for each currency.
1. You may be asked to verify your credentials by sending a verification email, or entering your password.
1. Once verified, enter your bank account information. The bank account must be a checking account. Ensure the account number, routing number, and account holder name match your bank statement. The bank account currency must match the currency in your [payout settings](https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/payouts).
1. Click **Add bank account** to save.
