I've lost access to my two-step authentication device or recovery code, what do I do?

If you’ve enabled two-step authentication for your Stripe account and you no longer have access to your authentication device, you have a few options.

  1. If you have your recovery code, click on Disable verification, then enter the backup code in the Emergency code field. The emergency recovery code was shown to you when you set up two-step authentication or if you regenerated a new one.

  2. If you do not have your recovery code, you can submit a request through our account recovery form. You’ll be asked to provide detailed information to confirm your identity, and the process will take 1-3 business days.

If you have only lost your recovery code, you can generate a new one from your profile settings by clicking Two-step authentication settings. The recovery code should be written down and stored in a safe place.
