# Payout failure codes in Brazil and how to resolve

This article is itended for users in Brazil.
Sometimes payouts to your bank account may fail for a number of different reasons. When a payout fails, you will see a code in your dashboard with the failure reason:

- **account\_closed**
- The bank account has been closed.

- **account\_frozen**
- The bank account has been frozen.
- Reach out to your bank to resolve the situation on your account, or add new bank account details in this [link](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts).

- **bank\_account\_restricted**
- The bank account has restrictions on either the type, or the number, of payouts allowed. This normally indicates that the bank account is a savings or other non-checking account.

- **bank\_ownership\_changed**
- The destination bank account is no longer valid because its branch has changed ownership.
- Reach out to your bank to resolve the situation on your account, or add new bank account details in this [link](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts).

- **could\_not\_process**
- The bank could not process this payout.
- Review your bank account details to ensure they were correctly entered. [Reach out to us for assistance](/contact/email) if needed.

- **debit\_not\_authorized**
- Debit transactions are not approved on the bank account. (Stripe requires bank accounts to be set up for both credit and debit payouts.)

- **declined**
- The bank has declined this transfer.
- Please contact the bank before retrying.

- **insufficient\_funds**
- Your Stripe account has insufficient funds to cover the payout.

- **invalid\_account\_number**
- The routing number seems correct, but the account number is invalid.
- Review your bank account details to ensure they were correctly entered.

- **incorrect\_account\_holder\_name**
- Your bank notified us that the bank account holder name on file is incorrect.
- Add a bank account that is associated to the same person/entity as your Stripe account (CPF for accounts _Pessoa Física_ or CNPJ for accounts _Pessoa Jurídica_).

- **incorrect\_account\_holder\_tax\_id**
- Your bank notified us that the bank account holder tax ID (CPF for accounts Pessoa Física or CNPJ for accounts Pessoa Jurídica) on file is incorrect.
- Add a bank account that is associated to the same person/entity as your Stripe account (CPF for accounts _Pessoa Física_ or CNPJ for accounts _Pessoa Jurídica_).

- **invalid\_currency**
- The bank was unable to process this payout because of its currency. This is probably because the bank account cannot accept payments in that currency.
- Add new bank account details matching the payout currency in this [link](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts).

- **no\_account**
- The bank account details on file are probably incorrect. No bank account could be located with those details.
- 1) Review your bank account details to ensure they were correctly entered. 2) Make sure your bank account is associated to the same person/entity as your Stripe account.
