# "Know Your Customer" (KYC) requirements for connected accounts

The requirements and responsibility of submitting "Know Your Customer" (KYC) information is different depending on your [Connect integration](https://stripe.com/docs/connect/accounts).
### Connected accounts that have gone through Stripe-hosted onboarding
The account holder is responsible for submitting the required information from their Dashboard, not the platform.
### Connected accounts that have not gone through Stripe-hosted onboarding
The platform is required to collect KYC information for the account holders of the account and [submit that information using the Stripe API](https://stripe.com/docs/connect/identity-verification-api).
