# Handling negative balance for Stripe accounts in India

Your available Stripe balance may go into the negative if the cost of refunds or disputes is greater than the existing balance.
[Adding funds directly](https://stripe.com/docs/add-funds) to your Stripe account is not supported in India and you'll see the following messages in your dashboard instead:
