Customers see "recurring" on bank statements for non-recurring charges
Why are my customers’ charges marked as “recurring?”
Stripe cannot store CVC codes on our servers due to PCI compliance, so we mark all payments made with saved payment information as ‘recurring’ so the card-issuing bank knows why charge requests are missing that information. This increases the likelihood that the charge will be approved, as it tells the bank that the CVC code isn’t present because the payment information was stored for recurring use.
The ‘recurring’ flag might show up on your customers’ statements but doesn’t necessarily indicate the customer is subscribed to a recurring billing plan, only that the card was saved for future charges.
