# Beneficial ownership by a trust, holding company or other legal entity

If one or more of your company's owners is a legal entity, such as a trust or holding company, Stripe needs to verify the information for the owners of that legal entity.
## Who you need to add
You'll need to add information for individuals who:
* Indirectly own enough to be considered a beneficial owner of the company.
* Serve on the governing board of the legal entity.
* Have significant management control over the legal entity.
## How to calculate indirect ownership percentage
Calculate indirect ownership by multiplying ownership percentages through levels of the ownership structure.
* Example: If you own 60% of Company A, which owns 50% of Company B, you're a beneficial owner of Company B and your percentage ownership is 30%.
