# Set up a passkey for one-click login

Passkeys offer a secure, passwordless login to the Stripe Dashboard using biometrics (such as Touch ID, Windows Hello, or Face ID), a device PIN, or a hardware security key. Passkeys can also be used as a two-step authentication method if you log in with a username and password.
### Before you start
We only support passkeys on modern browsers and devices.
### Set up a passkey
1. Open the [Personal details page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/user) on the Stripe Dashboard.
1. Under the **Passkeys** section, click **Add a passkey**.
1. Complete the account verification step. This is required because Passkeys grant full access to your account.
1. Complete your browser’s steps for creating a passkey. The prompt display may look different depending on your browser.
1. Enter a name for your passkey and click **Save** to register it with Stripe.
1. If you don't have two-step authentication enabled and this is your first passkey, you’ll be given a backup code. Write down the code and store it in a safe place. A backup code grants you access to your account if you lose your passkey.
You can now select **Sign in with passkey** for one-click login instead of entering your username and password.
