Completing account ownership verification

If your account is not up to date with the latest security features, Stripe may pause your account from accessing the Stripe Dashboard and ask you to verify the ownership of your account. For security purposes, you will be asked to provide detailed information to confirm your identity, and the process will take one to three working days.


After you have submitted information for ownership verification, we will send you updates to the email address on file. If we can verify your account, you will receive instructions to complete the verification process. In other cases, we will provide further instructions to help you complete ownership verification.

Although your access to the Dashboard is paused, your Stripe account will continue to operate normally, accept payments and process transfers. Once you regain access to the Dashboard, you can improve the security of your Stripe account by setting up two-step authentication.


Fill in the account verification form

  1. Go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/login and enter your credentials.
  2. If you are required to complete the account ownership verification process, you will be prompted to proceed.
  3. Fill in as much information as you can to the best of your knowledge. See more on tips below.
  4. Submit when you have completed the form. We will contact you at your on-file email address within one to three working days.
