Tax invoices are monthly statements of fees and tax amounts that Stripe issues to our customers. Stripe may collect sales tax, Value-Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or similar indirect taxes on Stripe products and services. Monthly tax invoices tell you the total fees and taxes charged for each product.
The tax laws of some countries may require Stripe to issue tax invoices to our users, which they can use for reporting purposes in their own tax declaration. This is used to claim a tax credit for the tax amounts paid to Stripe, provided that they meet all eligibility requirements.
In countries that have a Value-Added Tax (VAT) or a similar tax system, such as a Goods and Services Tax (GST), tax invoices are also known as VAT invoices or GST invoices.
