# When does the Revenue Recognition Account Receivable balance get cleared?

The Account Receivable balance in Revenue Recognition gets cleared in all of the following cases:
* The invoice is paid through Stripe (with recognizing Cash account)
* The invoice is marked as paid outside of Stripe (with recognizing [External Asset](https://stripe.com/docs/revenue-recognition/methodology#chart-of-accounts) account)
* The invoice is marked as [uncollectible or void](https://stripe.com/docs/revenue-recognition/methodology/subscriptions-and-invoicing#uncollectible-invoices)
