### Additional info for California connected accounts
California connected accounts are part of the Q4 escheatment process, but the connected accounts' funds won't be escheated to California until June 2027. If a connected account doesn't claim its funds or isn't removed from dormancy by the Q4 Connected Account Response Deadline, California will send a follow-up letter to the connected account’s address giving the account holder until June 2027 to claim the funds. For this reason, June 2027 is shown as the filing deadline for California accounts in the platform’s inactive-account reports.

Each quarter, Stripe notifies platforms if they have inactive connected accounts with unclaimed property, such as account balances or financial account balances. Platforms are notified to download their inactive account list from the Inactive Account page in their Stripe Dashboard and provide any correction guidance to Stripe within 14 days.
As part of this process, we also notify inactive connected accounts of any outstanding and unclaimed balances via physical mail. If a connected account does not respond to our notification, we remit the outstanding balances to the appropriate US state. Each state has its own filing deadline, and we group connected accounts with similar filing deadlines together to streamline our outreach and remittance.
