# Verification after name change

If your name has changed, reach out to the IRS to notify them of the change. You can call the [IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line](https://www.irs.gov/businesses/telephone-assistance-contacts-for-business-customers) toll free at 1-800-829-4933.
If you don't have an ID with your new name yet, you can upload paperwork (for example, a marriage certificate dated within the past twelve months) confirming the name change in the Dashboard, along with a valid ID from the [provided list](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://docs.stripe.com/acceptable-verification-documents?country%3DUS%26document-type%3Didentity&sa=D&source=docs&ust=1756315305088316&usg=AOvVaw1teFajcy6C7YYPqITQoe6C) that reflects your old name.
