Updates to Stripe Issuing Bank Terms and Accountholder Terms

Sep 28, 2023 update

In our continued commitment to offer the best service experience, we’re rolling out some changes to the Celtic Bank - Issuing Bank Terms (Spend Card), the Celtic Bank - Issuing Bank Terms (Charge Card), and the Stripe Issuing Accountholder Terms.

  • Organizational Change: We've partnered with Celtic Bank to offer new Stripe Issuing products. As a result, we've restructured Celtic Bank's Issuing Bank Terms. Depending on the Stripe Issuing product you're using, you may notice product-specific terms variations in terms, which now appear at the end of the Issuing Bank Terms.
  • Terminology Update: In efforts to enhance user experience and align with the API, we've changed the term "Asset Account" to "Issuing Balance".
  • Authorized User Responsibilities: Your responsibilities regarding Authorized Users have been transferred from the Stripe Services Agreement to the Issuing Bank Terms.
  • Disputed and Unauthorized Transactions: The sections about disputed and unauthorized transactions have also been moved to the Issuing Bank Terms. It's important to review these, as they provide critical information about transaction disputes and your responsibilities for securing your Stripe Issuing cards.
  • Arbitration Procedure Updates: We've aligned the arbitration procedures in the Issuing Bank Terms with those in the Stripe Services Agreement, promoting consistency across the two.
  • Changes to Stripe Services Agreement - Accountholder Terms:
    • As noted, the sections on Authorized User responsibilities, disputes transactions, and unauthorized transactions have been moved to the applicable Issuing Bank Terms.
    • We clarified Stripe’s obligations after you stop allowing Stripe to use your logos and marks on Stripe Issuing materials.
    • For clarity, these terms now expressly state that you may not use Personal Data or Stripe Data as part of a “consumer report” under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

These changes will take effect on November 1st, 2023. For detailed information about these updates, you can read the revised Issuing Bank Terms and the Stripe Issuing Accountholder Terms on our website.
