# Updates to card pricing in Australia from October 2026

Lower pricing for Australia card transactions effective starting October 1, 2026. Starting October 1, 2026, we'll decrease our **domestic card processing fees** for Australian businesses on standard pricing:
* Online (card-not-present) payments: Decreasing from 1.70% + A$0.30 to 1.65% + A$0.30.
* Stripe Terminal (card-present) payments: Decreasing from 1.70% + A$0.10 to 1.65% + A$0.10.
On April 1, 2027, we'll also decrease our **international card processing fees** for Australian businesses on standard pricing:
* Online (card-not-present) payments: Decreasing from 3.50% + A$0.30 to 2.80% + A$0.30.
* Stripe Terminal (card-present) payments: Decreasing from 3.50% + A$0.10 to 2.80% + A$0.10.

### Why are these fees decreasing?
The [Reserve Bank of Australia](https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2026/mr-26-10.html) is reducing the caps on interchange fees and Stripe is passing these savings on to you.
### What types of transactions does this affect?
This change applies to successful credit or debit card transactions processed through Stripe for all card networks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, eftpos, China UnionPay, JCB, and Cartes Bancaires, as well as transactions processed on cards via Link.
### Which businesses are impacted by this change?
These changes apply to all businesses on Stripe's standard payments pricing.

These changes apply to businesses on Stripe's standard pricing. If you're on a custom payments pricing plan, your pricing is determined by your agreement with Stripe. ### How does this change affect platforms and my connected accounts?
* **If you use Stripe Connect, your connected accounts use the Stripe Dashboard, and Stripe manages risk:** These changes will apply to the Stripe fees for your connected accounts. Stripe will automatically notify your connected accounts about the changes that affect them. There’s no action needed from you.
* **For all other businesses that use Stripe Connect:** You are responsible for any updates to your own pricing in line with these changes, and for communicating with your users.

Use the Stripe Dashboard to calculate the impact these changes might have to your business.
To understand the impact of cards pricing:
1. Go to the [Reports section of your Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/reports/hub).
1. Select **Payment fees**.
1. Select **Export** next to **Transaction-level report** to download the report as a .CSV file.
On October 1, 2026: Transactions where "Card country" is Australia would be subject to the new domestic card processing fees.
On April 1, 2027: Transactions where "Card country" is not Australia would be subject to the new international card processing fees.
