# Understanding Stripe Sigma and Data Pipeline pricing

The subscription fee for Stripe Sigma and Stripe Data Pipeline is based on the number of charges per month. Charges include the successfully processed transactions both on Stripe, or through a third-party payments processor, in connection with any Stripe Service.
Charges on which the subscription fee is based do **not** include:
* Multiple activities at different stages of the same transaction. For example, if a charge is later refunded, it counts towards your entitlement only once.
* Activities conducted in test mode.
* The volume of data (for example, gigabytes of data).
* Number of queries run in Stripe Sigma.

## FAQ
### Is a Stripe charge the same as a data row?
No, a single charge can generate multiple associated data rows. Data Pipeline allows you to access [all Stripe data](https://docs.stripe.com/stripe-data/schema)—including various underlying data tables, columns, and rows linked to your transactions, as well as data not tied to specific transactions, such as customer information. Additionally, no fees are charged for updates to the same transaction, such as a refund that is processed at a later date.
### Is there a way to try Stripe Sigma or Data Pipeline before paying?
Yes, we offer a 30-day free trial to new users. If you subscribe to Data Pipeline, which includes access to Stripe Sigma, your 30-day free trial will grant access to both products. Your free trial auto-converts to the paid subscription you choose at sign-up after 30 days.
### Will I incur additional costs with my warehouse after setting up Stripe Data Pipeline?
If you [set up Data Pipeline as an integration with your data warehouse](https://docs.stripe.com/stripe-data/access-data-in-warehouse/data-warehouses), there are no additional fees collected by your data warehouse for the ingestion or internal distribution of Stripe data to other teams or systems. There are no additional fees collected by your data warehouse to store Stripe data either, as long as it resides on the Stripe warehouse instance. Fees may be incurred to the extent you distribute your Stripe data to another warehouse instance not managed by Stripe, please refer to information from your third-party provider.
However, if you [set up Data Pipeline using flat file delivery to your cloud storage](https://docs.stripe.com/stripe-data/access-data-in-warehouse/cloud-storage), you will be responsible for managing storage costs in the destinations. Additional third-party fees may apply for operations taken on the data, such as creating copies, which can vary based on file size and the rates charged by your cloud storage provider.
### How is my pricing affected if I don’t need all my data from Stripe Data Pipeline?
Your pricing remains the same regardless of the number of tables you choose to export using Data Pipeline.
### How do I unsubscribe?
[Dashboard administrators](https://docs.stripe.com/get-started/account/teams/roles#admin) can unsubscribe by going to **Settings** > **Your plans** > **Manage plans**. You will continue to have product access until the end of your contracted period.
### Will I have access to historical data or does that incur additional fees?
All your historical data is available at no additional cost. For example, if you subscribe on November 1, 2025, your entitlement of charges will only begin starting that date. All your Stripe data generated before November 1, 2025 will be included at no cost and will not count against your entitlement.
### How can I check my usage within my entitlement tier?
You can query the [charges](https://docs.stripe.com/stripe-data/schema) table in Stripe Sigma to see how many charges you had. For example, if your tier includes up to 10,000 charges, you can check in the charges table in Stripe Sigma if you are getting close to the 10,000 entitlement, and need to upgrade to the next tier.
### Will use of testmode or Sandbox instances incur additional fees?
No, use of testmode or Sandbox instances is free, allowing you to test your setup and better understand your account data.
### How do my non-Stripe transactions count against my Charge entitlement?
If you use [processor-agnostic processing with Stripe products](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/vault-and-forward), for example, you use Stripe Billing with data imported from a payment processor other than Stripe, you will get access to that data through Stripe Sigma and Data Pipeline. Imported non-Stripe data counts towards your Charge entitlement just like Stripe payments. If you do not import and use non-Stripe payments in the system, you will not incur any fees.
### How can I make a change to my plan?
From [Your Plans](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/plans) under Settings, navigate to Stripe Sigma & Data Pipeline and make changes. You can upgrade plans, and tiers, but you cannot downgrade plans without also increasing your entitlement tier.
