If the documents uploaded for verification don't meet our requirements, you'll receive an error message from us explaining why the document isn't acceptable. You can find this verification feedback in two places:
On your Dashboard – you'll see a red banner highlighting that we require further documents/information
In a feedback email to the account owner
Trade licence/freelancer permit
The licence/permit has expired: If your trade licence/permit has expired, we cannot accept it for verification. You must wait until you have the renewed document to continue with the verification process
The licence/permit is not issued in the UAE: We can only accept licences/permits that are issued within the UAE for a UAE Stripe account
Name mismatch: The business name on your account does not match the business name on the licence/permit
Emirate mismatch: The emirate in which your licence/permit was issued does not match the emirate detailed in your business's address on your Stripe account
Missing representative information: The Stripe account representative is not listed on the trade licence/permit
Memorandum of association
Missing ownership information: The document does not include information on how the ownership of the business is split. To verify an MoA, the document needs to show all owners of the business and the split of shares between these owners.
Name mismatch: The business name does not match the name of the business on the Stripe account
Missing owners: Owners listed on the MoA are not present as owners on the Stripe account. Any individual who owns 25% or more of the business is required to be added as an owner to your Stripe account. If your business is partially or wholly owned by another business, you'll need to provide an MoA or equivalent document for that business so we can identify which owners are required to be present on the account. This will require individuals from the holding company to be added to your Stripe account and verified in cases where these individuals ultimately own 25% or more of your business.
Proof of bank account
Invalid document type: The document is not a valid/official source of proof from your bank. For verification, we require either a scanned copy of a physical letter issued by your bank or PDF statement exported from your bank's web portal or app.
We cannot accept letters drafted by anyone other than your bank or screenshots of banking apps.
The document is password-protected: We can't review documents that are password-protected. Please export the document as a non-password-protected PDF or JPEG for review.
Incorrect name: The bank account is not in the name of your business. We can only accept personal bank accounts for single-member LLCs. If your business is not a single-member LLC, you are required to provide proof of a business bank account for verification.

I'm being asked to add additional owners to my account but they're not involved in my business.
If we identify an individual who owns 25% or more of your business, they are required to be added as an owner on your Stripe account and verified as an ultimate beneficial owner. This may involve adding individuals from holding companies who are not involved in the running of your business if they ultimately own a share of 25% or more of your business.
If we're requesting that you add owners who have left the company since your documents were drafted, please upload a share sale certificate or amendment to the MoA/AoA that details this change in ownership. You can upload this document via the Dashboard (by going to Settings > Business details), where we will request a memorandum of association.
Why am I being asked for a power of attorney document? What is a power of attorney document?
We will request a power of attorney document if the manager/account representative on the Stripe account is not present on your trade licence or memorandum of association. You can find more details about the power of attorney document here: https://support.stripe.com/questions/verification-of-businesses-in-the-uae
Some of the owners of my business are under 13 years old. What do I need to do?
Due to policy restrictions, we can't support businesses whose owners are minors.
I'm being asked to provide a memorandum of association but my business doesn't have one.
If your business is a sole establishment, you might have signed up as the incorrect legal entity type. You can change this by going to Settings > Tax details on the Dashboard.
If your business is not a sole establishment, you will need to provide documentation that outlines the ownership structure of the business.
