# Treasury: Card spending limits

The spending limits for your card are customizable, allowing you to control expenditures by both amount and merchant category. These limits can be applied across all cards for a cardholder or designated for a specific card.

### What’s the default spending limit for cards?
All cards are subject to the following per-transaction and daily spending limits:
* **United States:** 30,000 USD per transaction and 30,000 USD per day.
* **United Kingdom:** 5,000 GBP per transaction and 5,000 GBP per day.
### How do I increase the limit?
If you'd like to change the spending limit, contact Support. Provide the account ID and business case for the request.
### Can I set different spending limits depending on the country?
No. The spending limit is determined by the country where the card was issued, not the country where the card is used.
