Tax ID Number (TIN) format is different than Stripe’s suggested TIN format in the dashboard

If your tax ID number (TIN) does not look like the example TIN shown in your Dashboard for your country's TIN format and is not able to be verified, you may be attempting to enter a TIN that is registered in a different country. You must have a TIN (or government-issued ID number, if you are an individual or sole proprietor) registered in your country of business in order to use Stripe.

As you cannot change the country set for your Stripe account once it has been submitted, you will need to create a new Stripe account in the country in which your TIN is registered.
