# Resolve a Klarna customer protection Warning or Stop status

Klarna can assign your business a customer protection status if customers report an unusually high number of issues or Klarna identifies another critical concern. Depending on the status, Klarna might display a customer protection message during checkout or Stripe might disable Klarna for your account.
## Understand customer protection statuses
Klarna uses two customer protection statuses:
* **Warning:** Klarna remains available through Stripe. After a signed-in customer selects Klarna, Klarna displays a customer protection message about reported issues with your business. The customer can continue or cancel the purchase.
* **Stop:** For businesses offering Klarna through Stripe, Stripe disables Klarna for the account. Customers can’t select Klarna at checkout and must choose another available payment method. Because Klarna is unavailable, customers don’t see a customer protection message for the Stop status.
## Address a Warning status
Act promptly to understand and address the reported issues. Depending on the issues, you might need to improve order fulfillment, product descriptions, refund processes, or customer support.
Follow [Klarna’s customer protection message guidance](https://docs.klarna.com/acquirer/stripe/get-started/maximize-sales-with-klarna/customer-protection-message/) for recommended remediation steps and support options.
## Restore Klarna after a Stop status
Follow the applicable remediation and review process in [Klarna’s customer protection message guidance](https://docs.klarna.com/acquirer/stripe/get-started/maximize-sales-with-klarna/customer-protection-message/). Klarna determines when to remove the Stop status. Stripe manages Klarna’s availability on your account based on that status.
## Understand why Klarna assigned the status
Klarna assesses customer reports and other critical concerns when determining whether to assign a Warning or Stop status. Stripe doesn’t determine your status.
