# Pricing for Stripe Terminal

Issuers and card brands charge lower rates for "card present" transactions, so Stripe passes on these lower rates to you. This is why Terminal pricing is lower than Stripe's online card transaction pricing. This article covers how Terminal pricing works, including saved card fees and how custom pricing plans apply.
For detailed fee information, see the [Stripe Terminal product page](https://stripe.com/terminal).
## Fees on saved cards
When a card is presented and used immediately, you get Stripe's lower pricing for "card present" transactions. When a card is saved for later reuse, Stripe charges standard rates for online card transactions.
## Custom pricing plans
If you have a custom pricing plan with Stripe, it doesn't automatically apply to transactions through Stripe Terminal. Fees applied to Stripe Terminal transactions are different from those applied to online transactions.
If you process a large volume of payments and want to discuss enterprise rates, [contact sales](https://stripe.com/contact/sales).
### Terminal Use Fee per reader
This fee doesn't apply to accounts with [standard Terminal pricing](https://stripe.com/pricing#terminal). If you use Stripe Terminal with custom pricing, you may pay a Terminal Use Fee per active reader based on the reader tier (see table below). The fee amount is specified in your pricing contract.
