# Pay out to connected accounts in other countries

You can pay sellers and service providers in other countries with Connect cross-border payouts or Global Payouts. The right option depends on how you onboard the people you pay and how funds move through your platform.
## Choose how to pay out internationally
### Connect cross-border payouts
Use Connect cross-border payouts when you onboard sellers or service providers as full-service connected accounts and the supported funds flow fits your use case.
- Your platform and your connected accounts must be in supported countries.
- Learn more about [Connect cross-border payouts](https://docs.stripe.com/connect/cross-border-payouts), including supported countries and funds flows.
### Global Payouts
Use Global Payouts if you want to send money directly to the bank accounts of people or businesses, separately from how you accept payments. Recipients don't need a Stripe account.
- You manage your own legal and compliance requirements. Depending on your business, this might include a money transmitter license.
- Availability depends on your business and its location.

## Recipient accounts in other countries
Platforms already approved for cross-border connected accounts on the [recipient service agreement](https://docs.stripe.com/connect/service-agreement-types) can continue to use them.
Platforms without that approval can't create recipient accounts in another country. Use Connect cross-border payouts or Global Payouts instead.
## Troubleshooting
### Error when creating a recipient account in another country
If your platform isn't approved for recipient accounts in other countries, creating one returns an error. The message shows your platform's country and the connected account's country as two-letter country codes. For example, a US platform creating a recipient account in Canada gets this message: "The recipient ToS agreement is not supported for platforms in US creating accounts in CA. See [Cross-border payouts](https://stripe.com/docs/connect/cross-border-payouts) for more details."
The error code is `recipient_tos_service_agreement_type_not_available_in_country`.
To pay out to that seller or service provider, create the connected account on the full service agreement and use Connect cross-border payouts, or use Global Payouts. You can't change a connected account's service agreement after it's accepted.
### Recipient account countries missing from your Dashboard
If you don't see the **Transfer funds to newly supported countries** section in **Connect** > **Onboarding options** > [Countries](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/connect/onboarding-options/countries), your platform isn't approved for recipient accounts in other countries. To pay out internationally, use Connect cross-border payouts or Global Payouts.
