# One-time Consolidated Billing Cycle due to Tax Invoice Transition

Starting August 2026 Tax Invoice, we are gradually updating how fees are logged on Tax Invoices for Stripe fees. For more information on this change, see August 2026 updates to Tax Invoice for Stripe fees.
Fees are now included in the Tax Invoice based on the date they were finalised in Stripe's system, rather than when your fee was processed to your Stripe account balance. As a result, some fees could fall in a different invoice month than they would have previously.
**On your first impacted invoice total could appear higher than expected** as we transition our Tax Invoice logic. You can check when you may be impacted in August 2026 updates to Tax Invoice for Stripe fees.
**This is a one-time effect**. Starting in November 2026, your invoices will return to a single subscription charge per billing cycle. To learn how to locate and verify these line items on your reports, continue reading below.

### Understanding the change through an example
Under the previous Tax Invoice logic, some fees like fixed monthly fees such as the Sigma subscription fee appeared on the invoice for the month after the service was used. For example, the September Sigma subscription fee under the previous logic appeared on the October invoice.
If your first new logic affected invoice is in October, October serves as a one-time transition period. Your Tax Invoice will reflect both the September subscription fee under our previous logic and the October subscription fee under the new logic.
You have not been charged twice, and the fee has not increased. The first impacted invoice simply includes fees for two different service periods.
We have observed this effect for the following products:
- Enterprise Support - Monthly fee
- Premium Support - Monthly fee
- Issuing - Base fee
- Treasury for Platforms Monthly Fee
- Growth Support - Monthly fee
- Stripe Connector for NetSuite - monthly subscription fee
- Stripe Data Pipeline - Monthly fee
- Sigma - Monthly fee
- BACS Debit - monthly custom branding fee
### How to Identify and Review Two Billing Periods on the Reports
If you are looking to review if a certain fee for the first new logic affected invoice is covering two billing periods, you can download the Fees Report and follow the steps below:
1. Download the Fees Report in **itemised** format using the **Invoice filter**.
1. Filter for the fee specific fee using the **`feature_name`** column.
1. Review the **`fee_description`** column to understand which subscription period the fee is related to.
1. Optionally, if you are looking to reconcile this with the Balance Summary Report, follow the guidance outlined in Reconciliation process update due to Tax Invoice transition.
For instance, if you have a Sigma subscription, your initial affected invoice might show a fee of $200 rather than the usual $100 amount. Downloading and checking the Fees Report as outlined above will display a log entry similar to this, which shows that two billing periods were included in the invoice:
- feature_name
- balance_transaction_created
- fee_description
- amount
