# My connected account hasn’t received an invitation email for Stripe Express dashboard access

Check the status of a pre-filing confirmation email for your connected account in the **1099 forms** section of the **Tax forms** page of the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/connect/taxes/forms). Click the connected account and review its **Pre-filing confirmation status** under **Payee details** in the side panel.
**Pre-filing confirmation** has one of the following statuses:
* **Queued**: This connected account is in the queue, and Stripe will send their pre-filing confirmation email soon.
* **Sent**: We sent this connected account their pre-filing confirmation email. The connected account should look for an email with the subject line “[Action required to receive your 2026 tax forms](https://stripe.com/docs/connect/platform-express-dashboard-taxes-walkthrough#receive-email)” in their inbox. If they can’t find the email in their inbox or spam folder, confirm the listed email address is correct.
* **Not eligible**: This connected account isn’t eligible for pre-filing confirmation. The account may not be eligible because:
  * It’s missing an email address or other payee details.
  * It’s under the 1099 reporting threshold.
  * Its configuration excludes it from eligibility. See [Edge cases](https://docs.stripe.com/connect/platform-express-dashboard-taxes-faqs#edge-cases-for-pre-filing-confirmation-and-edelivery-via-stripe-express).
* **Not Sent**: This connected account is eligible, but wasn’t sent an invite before the pre-filing confirmation cutoff date. See [step two of the Tax season checklist](https://docs.stripe.com/connect/get-started-tax-reporting#outreach).
The **All** tab displays the total count of accounts in the selected status filter. Platforms can also export a CSV from the tax forms tab to get a list of accounts and their pre-filing confirmation status. The export includes status only—it does not include the date the email was sent.
To improve pre-filing confirmation rates, platforms should prioritize resolving eligible accounts that have a missing email address on record.
### Send a pre-filing confirmation email
To send your connected account a pre-filing confirmation email:
1. From the **1099 forms section** of the **Tax forms** page of the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/connect/taxes/forms), click the connected account.
1. Verify the email address is accurate. If you update the email address, the new address becomes the primary email address for that connected account. Learn how to manage a connected account’s emails.
1. Click the overflow menu (**...**) in the side panel.
1. Click **Request pre-filing confirmation**.
Connected accounts can request a new invite link on the [Stripe support site](https://support.stripe.com/express/how-do-i-get-a-new-invite-link). The email address they enter must match the one associated with their Stripe account.
### Why some accounts don't receive pre-filing confirmation emails
Accounts where the same email address is shared across more than five connected accounts do not receive pre-verification requests. When an email address is used by too many accounts, Stripe cannot reliably determine which individual or entity's tax information needs to be verified, so pre-verification is blocked for all accounts sharing that email.
This issue is more common on platforms, where connected accounts are often set up as business accounts with multiple users sharing a single email address. The email does not need to be shared only within one platform—an email shared across accounts on multiple platforms can still trigger this block.
### What to do when confirmation rates are low
If you have accounts that haven’t received pre-filing confirmation emails:
* Filter for eligible accounts with a pre-filing confirmation status of “Not sent" that have met the filing threshold
* Reach out to those accounts directly and ask them to log into each of their connected accounts individually to confirm their tax details and delivery preferences.
* Work with accounts that share an email address to update their records so each connected account has a unique email on file.
