Sometimes Stripe payouts fail to complete and you will receive a notification asking you to update your bank account details. That usually happens because there was an issue with the bank account information provided. Below the most common causes for payout failures in Stripe Brazil accounts and how to resolve them:
If your Stripe account is Pessoa Física, the bank account added must be associated with the same CPF entered in your Stripe account. If your Stripe account is Pessoa Jurídica (or associated with a CNPJ), the bank account must be associated with the same CNPJ. A mismatch in this information can cause payouts to fail.
The bank details must also be in the correct format: enter your bank account number with numbers only (no hyphens) including the digit.
For Caixa Econômica Federal account holders, the current account should have 12 digits; it must include the operation code (3 digits): 001,002,003, and the current account (9 digits including zeros): Ex: 001000456789.
Your account must be a current account – we do not work with transfers to savings and salary accounts. This is because the salary account does not allow receiving credits (deposits and transfers) from third parties, only from the employer. The savings account only accepts transfers from the same ownership. If your bank account is a university account, check with your bank whether you can receive TED/DOC on this account. The university account also has restrictions, but it depends on each bank and the package of services contracted.
You will need a Brazilian-based bank account that's BRL denominated to receive your Stripe payouts. Your bank also needs to be a domiciled institution as per Central Bank regulation. Full list of Domiciled Institutions can be found in here (under Participantes > Participantes Homologados).
