# Managing your registered agent subscription

Companies formed in Delaware must [maintain a "registered agent"](https://stripe.com/docs/atlas/signup#agent-service) to act as your liaison with the state and to receive legal notices if the company is sued. Your first year of registered agent services is included in your one-time Stripe Atlas fee.
### Renewing your registered agent subscription
To make maintaining this service easy for you, Stripe Atlas automatically renews registered agent services each year by charging your credit card for that year’s renewal fee annually on your company formation date. The renewal fee is $100, and it will be charged to your credit card on file each year. You can update your payment method in the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/atlas/company).
If your address or contact information has changed, please update your details in the Atlas section of the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/login?redirect=%2F) so that we can process your registered agent renewal on time.
### Cancelling your registered agent subscription
If you’d like to opt out of the renewal of your registered agent services, you can [cancel your subscription in the Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/atlas/company). If you choose to opt out of this subscription and are not dissolving your company, you will need to [make your own arrangements](https://corp.delaware.gov/coa09/) to appoint [a Delaware registered agent](https://corp.delaware.gov/agents/) in order for your company to remain in good standing with the state of Delaware.
