# Managed Payments pricing

### Pricing overview
* Managed Payments charges a 3.5% fee for each successful transaction. This fee is calculated based on the full transaction amount, including any indirect taxes (for example, the VAT or sales tax assessed on the transaction).
* The Managed Payments fee is in addition to the standard Stripe payment processing fees, which are outlined on [Stripe's pricing page](https://stripe.com/pricing/local-payment-methods) and in the table below.
* Additional charges apply for subscription payments. Refer to the "[Pay as you go](https://stripe.com/pricing#billing)" fee for Stripe Billing.
### Local payment methods pricing
Select local payment methods are available to all [eligible sellers](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/managed-payments/how-it-works#supported-business-locations) on Managed Payments.
Through Managed Payments, you may be able to accept local payment methods that are otherwise not supported in your business country. As a result, some of the fees for these payment methods may not be outlined in the [Stripe payment methods pricing page](https://stripe.com/pricing/local-payment-methods) available in your country.
Any pricing listed on the [Stripe payment methods pricing page](https://stripe.com/pricing/local-payment-methods) for your country supersedes the fees listed below. As a reminder, these fees are in addition to the 3.5% Managed Payments fee described above.

### Pricing FAQ
**How much does Managed Payments cost?**
Managed Payments charges an additional 3.5% fee per successful Managed Payments transaction. This is in addition to payment fees and fees for accepting subscriptions (if you accept subscription payments). See Stripe's [pricing page](https://stripe.com/pricing#payments) for more details.
**How is the 3.5% fee calculated?**
The 3.5% fee is calculated on the full transaction amount, including any indirect taxes assessed on the transaction (for example, sales tax or VAT).
**What's included in the 3.5% Managed Payments fee?**
For Managed Payments transactions, the 3.5% fee includes:
* Global indirect tax handling (calculation and collection, and – in supported countries – filing and remittance)
* Fraud prevention (automatically configured and managed for Managed Payments transactions)
* Dispute management for eligible card disputes (Stripe can respond on your behalf for Managed Payments transactions)
* Transaction-level customer support (provided via Link)
See our docs to learn more about [how Managed Payments compares to other Stripe products](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/managed-payments#compare-managed-payments-to-other-products).
**Are there additional fees for subscriptions?**
If you use Stripe Billing for subscriptions, billing fees apply separately. Refer to Stripe Billing's Pay-as-you-go [pricing](https://stripe.com/pricing#billing).
**How should I compare Managed Payments pricing to other MoR providers?**
Many merchant of record (MoR) providers advertise a single "headline" rate, but the all-in effective cost typically ranges from 7 – 9% based on:
* FX and currency conversion margins
* Payout timing, reserves or holdbacks
* Billing or subscription fees
* Dispute handling and dispute fees
* End-customer support scope (who handles it)
* Payment method surcharges and availability by region
Managed Payments uses an add-on fee model: 3.5% per successful Managed Payments transaction, plus standard Stripe processing fees. This includes responsibility for tax compliance across 75+ countries, fraud prevention, dispute management, invoicing and customer support.
**Why is Managed Payments priced as an add-on fee instead of a single bundled rate?**
Stripe separates payment processing fees from MoR services to provide clearer pricing and to support flexible use cases (for example, using Managed Payments only for certain transactions, markets, or products).
**Are dispute fees charged in addition to the 3.5% fee?**
Stripe's standard dispute-related fees may apply depending on your setup and dispute outcomes. Refer to our dispute support documentation for details.
**Can I use Managed Payments for part of my business?**
Yes. Managed Payments can be applied selectively, for example, to certain markets or product lines, which can help you manage overall effective cost by using MoR coverage where it's most valuable.
**If I'm already paying for Radar or Smart Disputes, do I still need to pay for those with Managed Payments?**
Managed Payments includes managed fraud and dispute handling for Managed Payments transactions as part of the 3.5% fee. Any additional products or advanced configurations outside Managed Payments may have separate pricing depending on what you enable.
**Why might I see local payment methods pricing that isn't listed on my country's Stripe pricing page?**
Managed Payments may allow you to accept certain local payment methods that aren't otherwise available for your business country. In those cases, the fees for those methods may not appear on the payment method pricing page for your country, but can be found in the table above.
