# Lower pricing for New Zealand card transactions effective starting December 1, 2025

Starting December 1, 2025, we’ll decrease our **domestic card processing fees** for New Zealand businesses on standard pricing:
* Online ([card-not-present](https://stripe.com/resources/more/what-are-card-not-present-transactions)) payments: Decreasing from 2.70% + NZ$0.30 to 2.65% + NZ$0.30.
* Stripe Terminal ([card-present](https://stripe.com/resources/more/what-are-card-present-transactions)) payments: Decreasing from 2.70% + NZ$0.05 to 2.60% + NZ$0.05.
On May 1, 2026, we’ll also decrease our **international card processing fees** for New Zealand businesses on standard pricing:
* Online (card-not-present) payments: Decreasing from 3.70% + NZ$0.30 to 3.50% + NZ$0.30.
* Stripe Terminal (card-present) payments: Decreasing from 3.50% + NZ$0.05 to 2.70% + NZ$0.05.

The Commerce Commission of New Zealand is [reducing the caps on interchange fees](https://www.comcom.govt.nz/regulated-industries/projects/retail-payment-system/) and Stripe is passing these savings on to you.

This change applies to successful credit or debit card transactions processed through Stripe for all card networks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, China UnionPay, JCB, and Cartes Bancaires, as well as transactions processed on cards via Link.

These changes apply to all businesses on Stripe’s standard pricing.

**If Stripe determines the price for your connected accounts**, these changes will apply to the Stripe fees for your connected accounts. Stripe will automatically notify your connected accounts about the changes. There’s no action needed from you, but you’re welcome to share additional communication with them about the change.

To understand the impact of cards pricing:
* Go to the [**Reports** section of your Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/reports/hub).
* Select **Payment fees**.
* Select **Export** next to **Transaction-level report** to download the report as a .CSV file.
  * On December 1, 2025: Transactions where “Card country” is New Zealand would be subject to the new card processing fees.
  * On May 1, 2026: Transactions where “Card country” is not New Zealand would be subject to the new card processing fees.
