What is Link in my Identity flow?

Link enables your customers to share documents faster on Identity by allowing them to reuse documents they’ve previously saved to Link. Customers who save their documents to Link will be able to seamlessly share their documents the next time they use Identity resulting in improved conversion and faster verification.

Does Link impact my pricing?

There’s no change to pricing. Link is an optimization to Identity, enabling you to benefit from increased conversion without added fees.

How will Link impact my conversion rate and overall customer experience?

Returning customers who have saved their documents to Link across the Stripe ecosystem will have a streamlined verification experience by choosing which document to reuse. By reusing documents, customers will not need to find the physical document in order to re-upload it, which is the primary cause for conversion drop off.

Customers who don’t have a Link account will have the option to create one at the end of the Identity flow, this way we don’t impact conversion.

How do I leverage Link with Identity?

To benefit from document reuse for more customers, make sure you’re providing your customer's email when creating the Verification Session object—we use the email to check if they have saved a document with Link before. This enables us to dynamically present the returning customer with the opportunity to login to Link at the beginning of the flow.

How do I disable Link for Identity if I don’t want it?

If you’d prefer not to have this feature enabled, you can opt out of the "faster verification" feature on the Identity Setting page in the Stripe Dashboard. Disabling the feature will also disable the conversion benefits for the returning user experience.
