Tax and accounting HELP
As US companies, all Atlas companies need to file state and federal taxes each year. Federal business taxes are due by April 15, 2025, or October 15, 2025 if you file an extension.
Taxes you may need to pay
Businesses incorporated in Delaware usually need to pay:
- US federal and state corporate income tax. The federal government and most US states tax the income of your company. We recommend you work with a tax professional to help you file. Federal income tax is due by April 15, 2025 (or by October 15, 2025, if you file an extension). State income tax due dates may vary; check your state government website for details.
- Delaware tax. An annual tax due March 1 for Delaware C corporations and June 1 for Delaware LLCs, which is generally a few hundred dollars for startups. Learn how to file or get help from our partners.
- Sales tax. Many states and cities—and some countries—charge tax on the sale of products and services. A tax professional can help you file your sales tax reports as well, while Stripe Tax can automate the calculation and collection of sales tax on your transactions.
Even if you had no revenue, you likely still need to file taxes for 2023. If your business is no longer operational, consider dissolving your company to avoid paying taxes in future tax years.
