# Impact of banks leaving the Irish market

Update: starting August 31, 2023, we will stop processing payouts to bank accounts issued by KBC Bank Ireland. Update your bank account now to avoid payout delays.
Ulster Bank Ireland and KBC Bank Ireland have decided to [leave the Irish market](https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/842c3-ulster-bank-and-kbc-bank-are-moving-out-of-the-irish-banking-market) by mid-2023. This impacts Stripe users that have accounts with these banks.
Any Stripe user that pays out their funds to an account owned by either of these banks will have to [update their bank account details](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts) accordingly. If you still have an Ulster Bank or KBC account linked to your Stripe account after the departure is complete, your payouts will fail.
Additionally, you might see an increase in declines coming from customers whose accounts with these banks are closed.
