If you change your financial institution login credentials, the type of connection that Stripe and our service providers have to your financial institution will determine if we can still access your linked financial account.
If Stripe and our service providers connect to your financial account via OAuth, the connection will remain active. As long as the token provided by your financial institution remains valid, Stripe will be able to continue accessing your linked financial account and sharing updated data with your merchant.
If Stripe and our service providers connect to your financial account via a method other than OAuth, the connection will be lost if you change your login credentials. Stripe will no longer be able to access your linked financial account or share updated data with your merchant. In these situations, you can reach out to your merchant to re-establish a connection to your account in order to ensure your product experience is not disrupted.
Regardless of whether you change your login credentials, you can request to disconnect a linked financial account and delete any data copied from your account at any time.
