# How to opt out of emails from Stripe

The process for opting out of emails depends on the kind of email. Many communication preferences can be managed from the [Stripe Dashboard.](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/communication-preferences)
### Marketing emails
Opt out of promotional emails from Stripe by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of an email, or by visiting [Email preferences](https://go.stripe.global/subscribe) to manage your preferences and opt out of future promotional emails.
### Operational or transactional emails
Operational or transactional emails, such as account notifications, billing updates, or security alerts, are necessary for the continued use of Stripe's services and typically do not offer an opt-out option. Use the [Communications preferences](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/communication-preferences) page of the Dashboard to manage your notifications.
